Tour: Add new places

You can add new places to 5 Blocks Out

Each place listed on 5 Blocks Out exists because one of the community members thought it was an interesting place worth adding. You can add places too... in fact, we'd love it if you would. Here's how to do it.

Step 1: Search for the place you're thinking of.
In this example we're searching for a cafe called "The Good Neighbour".

Since we don't see Good Neighbour listed in the search results, go ahead and click "Add a new place".

Step 2: Find a match within the results returned from Google.
If you see the right place in the list from Google, click the orange button to add the place.

Google often has a match. However, if Google doesn't list the place you're looking for, you can enter it yourself. Click "Enter address by hand" in the options box. Then fill in the address and click "Map It".

Step 3: Review the map to be sure you've got the right location.
Does the map show the correct street address? IF not, you might want to search again or enter the address by hand.
If everything looks correct on the map then click "Add to 5 Blocks Out".

Step 4: Add some categories and keywords to describe what the place is, or why people might want to go there. This helps other people find the place.

Hooray! You've added a new place to 5 Blocks Out.
