Share tips about local places
People share local knowledge with each other on 5 Blocks Out by reading and writing brief helpful tips about places in the city. Here's an example:

Adding new tips is easy to do
To add a new tip, click the 'Add a Tip' button anywhere you see it.
When the tip form shows up, fill in whatever you want to share and click 'Save'. Done!

Vote tips as helpful
You can vote other people's tips as "helpful" if you find them particularly useful. We showcase helpful tips by making them easier to find. Vote by clicking yes or no in the bottom left hand corner of a tip.

Add parent/kid-related tips
You can add tips specifically for parents with young kids. Learn more about parent tips.Vote on places
On the "Add a new tip" page you'll notice you can also vote on places. 5 Blocks Out uses your votes to help people find useful and relevant places.
For instance, a parent might want to vote on places that are "kid friendly". Someone interested in environmentally conscious places might vote places as "green". And if you know about a place that makes life in a particular neighbourhood great then vote that place as a "local hero". (There's a limit on the number of Local Hero votes you have, though, so use them wisely!)
If you just want to vote and don't feel like adding a tip, that's OK too. Click the 'Include your vote' button on any destination page.
