Can you recommend a good, not too expensive hair-dresser or salon?

Hi, I've been in Toronto for several years now and have yet to find a good, (relatively) inexpensive place to get my hair cut on a regular basis. Please help!!! Downtown/west side is most ideal.

FIORIO itself isn't cheap, but the location at 1910 Yonge St is the Fiorio Academy, which is a training salon. They are inexpensive, but you generally get a great cut - the stylists change but the supervisors don't, so it's pretty consistent. I take my kids there too, but they're pretty mellow kids. show more

Fiorio seems to have stylists that are able to do a good job at a wide range of hairstyles. I think they can make a hairdo funky or classic. I wouldn't say they are cheap.

This place is not cheap but you get a cut that always looks good. Lloyd is the one that I know and he has been cutting hair for a long time. (40 years?). He just knows what looks good on you and cuts it well. I think in his first life as a hair dresser he worked in London. In his second life he had a salon in Yorkville. After being fed up with the exorbitant rent he moved to this strange location. It's at the back of a building and a bit hard to find unless you have directions. show more

Great place, friendly stylists, very efficient (45 minutes for wash, cut and style), no wait, not too $$$ ($58 for a cut). Ashley, who cuts my hair is great ;-)

Clean and modern place with nice people. If you're getting a cut, the cost is reasonable (~$50), but if you're getting colour, it's not as economical.
