The owner grew up in the area and roasts his own coffee in the basement. He has kid's toys at the back and is very relaxed. There is also music in the evenings (jam sessions) but since we have kids, we ever get out! The service is slow and relaxed so you can't go if you in a big hurry. show more
i had a great meal here the other day, ordering 3 appetizers, and then switching back and forth between all of them, at a loss for which was most delicious and which i wanted to linger on my palate! I had Khao Tom Ping (coconut sticky rice in banana leaves) (WOW!), Satays (marinated chicken in a light coconut curry sauce served on a skewer)(V TENDER!), Nam Dip (Lanna salad rolls wrapped in rice paper). I loved the peanut sauce. Oooh peanut sauce! ) show more
We love this place. Livia runs a fantastic kid's program that my five year old son loves. She really knows how to program yoga so it's appealing to an active child. Each week there is a new craft - all environmentally sensitive, for example making their own hand cream etc. The adult classes are great as well. They have a 30$ for 30 day trial run for people new to the centre. It's locally owned and we love it! show more
Enzo runs this restaurant with his partner, landlord Michael. Enzo grew up in the area and really wanted to create a place that would add to our neighbourhood. The food is good and reasonably priced and very family friendly. Zo also sponsor's a student of the month at the local public schools and the student gets a free pizza if they win. The decor is fine but a little too warehouse-like but if you ignore that bit and let Enzo's mum welcome you into their restaurant I know you will love it! show more
Andrew is a no-nonsense tarot reader who has been working in the community for 6 years or so. He's also my hubby so I guess I'm not impartial. The Hermit's Lamp is a bright sunny space that is great to get a reading or just browse the yummy organic incense and other goodies. show more
